Timing belt change on 2009 Galant
Hello Everyone,
I will be changing timing belt on my 2009 Galant soon, when it reaches 105,000 miles (around in 2-4 months), currently at 98,000.
I went to dealer and he said that I don't need to change everything, just belt and water pump will do. And depending on parts he use it will cost anything between 700-1000 USD. I was thinking he will be using oem parts till he said depending on quality of parts. So I visited a local garage who will do it for labor, I might ask him to order parts as well and pay a little extra for liability.
I had look at gates timing belt kit with water pump (TCKWP340) but due to bad reviews of water pump on it I decided to get parts separately.
This is the list of parts I am thinking of buying.
Gates TCK340
2 x timing belts
1 x idler
2 x tensioner
AISIN BTM001
1 x cam. tensioner hyd. assy
GMB 1481780
1 x water pump
1 x gasket
Seal kit
1 x cam seals
1 x crankshaft seals
IKH20TT
4 x spark plugs
1 x thermostat OEM
1 x timing cover gasket/seal
only if needed, since it is making some noise
1 x gates serpentine belt + pulley + tensioner
Let me know your opinion on brands, parts I should be changing, parts I don't need to change etc
Also, If anyone from Rochester NY area, can suggest me a good shop to do these.

Use oem parts only when doing timing belt job. Don't fuck with aftermarket especially the belt.
