    question tires and lowering

I got a question. Im planning on buying 17" rims and i wanna install em replacing my stock wheels, will i have to align them and balance them by going to a shop? and while im changing the wheels i wanna lower the car by cutting the stock springs, all i gotta do is take off the springs the right way and cut a coil or two off and then reinstall? thanks

Your best bet with new wheels is to have them mounted and balanced somewhere if they don't come that way from wherever you buy them. It's relatively cheap for them to do it (if they offer it anyway). Usually if you go 17 inch and lower they will do em for you no problem.

Make sure if you're cutting the springs you line em up with where the stock cuts are so they sit right when you re-install em.

yea, when you get new wheels and tires, i do recommend the alignment too. or at least a check. it would be a waste saying goodbye to your new tires in a few months or so because of bad alignment.
