You can buy some cat cleaner to get rid of that.

You might run rich losing gas mileage and you wouldnt pass inspection i dont think.I'm replacing mine with a high flow cat. only like 100 bucks.

thats true, if your c.c. is bad, you will NOT pass the emission test here in chicago. i just did that with my fathers car(91 chrysler New Yorker) after changing the c.c. the car passed.

cool, i'll have to look in to that.....but isn't a high flow cat, the same thing as a hollowed out cat?

Its just set up inside to create the maximum flow but still meeting the epa requirments.Depeding on when you getting your inspection done just take out your cat and put a straight pipe in there until inspection comes along.

Cali spec cars have 2 cats like mine, one is like the downpipe, the other is the average middle of the car cat. I have only the downpipe cat and the second one I welded up a test pipe and I passed both visual and sniffer emissions tests with no problem. But I live in NYC.

hahahha i dont have emmisions in louisiana hahhaha. just messin when u have a loss of power and u cant figure out what it is, like with my car it would run very rough, sounded like a fuel problem, fixed all that then shat was still broke....i gutted my cat one day for the hell of it and that was the problem. i only have one in the middle. i didnt really have any smell with mine though.....

uhhhhhhhh try the one in the middle and see what happens mang, if that aint the problem then i would check your o2 sensors. AND if that aint the prob.......u might just have to check everything under the hood one by one. what exacally is it duin???? all noises, does it only happen when the engine is hot or all the time, etc......

there's no noise or anything, it just seems like it has a loss of power in the low rpms. and in the initial acceleration.
