Installed AGX after drop...do I need to drop more now???

Okay..I have a 2003 LS I-4. I had installed Tein S TEch Springs back in July of 2002 and kept the struts/shocks stock until yesterday. I installed KYB AGX's and now it seems like my ride has lost its drop somewhat. Does anyone know if the struts/shocks will settle? If so, how much will it come back down? If it doesn't come back down much more, I might have to consider lower springs. Please advise.

Well, my car did raise a tad bit up front when I installed the front Koni insert struts, but I believe that was due to the fact that the front stock struts were shot. Had the stock front struts been brand new, I doubt there would have been much of a difference at all.

So, my question for you is, how long have you been dropped on the stock struts? It could be that they were already shot.

I've been on stock struts while dropped since July of 2003...so basically 6 months. I don't think they were shot yet...but they were definetly on their way there. I looked at it again today and it does almost look stock height again. This is outrageous!!!!! :x

you have a 4 cylinder right. I think its because of the weight of the car. the springs you have fit both the i4 and the v6 but results in different drop due to the weight of the car. I installed my shocks and springs together and i have a V6 and i only have a three finger gap. i think you should wait a month of so and i think it will be begin to settle and get lower.

Thanks for the input...I'll try and stick it out as long as i can bear looking at it. It's really not terrible but it's just I was so used to having a decent drop that now i am freeking out. :?

    same happened to me
I had the progress springs with stock struts for about a year
I then switched to the KYB AGX struts and the car went up about 1/4 all around
after some settleing the car is almost how it was with the stock struts
with the stuck my rear wheels tucked...I'm trying to get that effect again
but one thing I will say is the ride is 100% better with the KYB's then stock

That's a relief to hear. How long did it take for it to settle and drop back to normal height? ALso, I realized that my alingment seems pretty fu*ked up after my install. It pulls to the right a little and the steering wheel is shaking over 40 mph. Did you have to get an alingment after your KYB install?

This should settle, I acually notice that my GTZ is higher when my KYBs are set on 4 as compaired to when they are on 1...but after a while the 4 setting will settle down more...I dont know why this is really....I love the look of the drop though, not too much, but it looks great and feels better!

Anytime you change parts of your suspension, it is a must to get an alignment.

Ahhh yes...the IHop....I've spent many drunken nights eating a stack of silver dollar pancakes there...lol.

After 3 weeks, the KYB's have settled and i still feel I need to drop it more. I have purchased Ground Control Coilovers so that I don't have to worry about the height situation anymore.

Hey Vic when you installed the Tein's how much did you cut the bump rubber? I was thinking half all the way around would do it.
