There is no point in trading it in. I figured that out when I was thinking about getting an Eclipse from the dealer.
I'm keeping my G till it dies because it will be a waste of money trading it in.
I'm still trying to decide what I should do with my Galant.
1999 Mitsubishi Galant ES w/95k miles.
KBB Trade-in = $3,000
NADA Trade-in = $3,225
KBB Private Party = $4,500
NADA Private Party = $4,725
KBB Retail (Dealer) = $6,500
Should I trade it in? I know I'll get raped on the trade in.
Should I try to sell it to a Private Party?
Should I keep it until it dies?
Either way we need an SUV since we have a big pitbull/boxer mix. A family sedan doesn't cut it on 100+ mile trips with the dog in the back seat.

yeah... resell value for our cars is shit. better to keep than give it away.
just remove the back seat and you'll have a hybrid vehicle. jk. but yea i feel ya on the suv thing. as mig as the galant is, sometimes its small for otehr things...but yea resale on the glaant sucks so if ur gonna sell it, best bet is to sell it to a private party, instead of to a dealer

Keep it as a 2nd ride. I feel ya on needing a SUV, I plan on getting one this summer myself. But I'm keeping my '99 till the wheels fall off, which might be soon, but I hope not. Mine has 195k and should break 200k by June. So keep it around.
