    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>Wheel Construction Â*

There is a good variety of ways of constructing wheels. Most alloy wheels are made in either one, two or three piece construction types. One piece is just what it says, a wheel made in a mold as a single piece. Two piece wheels are made of two separate pieces (center and barrel) that are usually welded or bolted together. Three piece wheels are made of three separate pieces. They have a center, and inside rim half, and an outside rim half. They are bolted together using the highest quality fasteners. Â*

Manufacturing method is very important in the overall quality and performance of a wheel. Here are the most common types of manufacturing techniques employed: Â*

    Forging
Considered to be the best manufacturing technique, forging allows for the compression of an aluminum billet (one solid piece of aluminum) into an aluminum wheel using over 13 million pounds of pressure combined with heat. This produces a wheel that is both stronger and lighter then your standard aluminum wheel. Â*

    Â*
A subset of forging is called roll forging. In this process, a metal blank is run through rollers with impressions sunk in to their surface giving the wheel its final shape. This allows the wheel to be produced with less aluminum, reducing weight but maintaining strength. Â*
    Â*
    Low Pressure Casting
This is the most common form of rim manufacturing. Much like a casting, liquid metal is poured into a mold and allowed to harden until the finished wheel is cool enough to be taken out of the casting. Â*
    Â*
    Counter Pressure Casting
Opposite to low pressure casting, the liquid metal is not poured, rather it is sucked into the mold using a vacuum. This reduces impurities making the wheel much stronger than a low pressure cast rim. </div>

keep in mind that a forged wheel can cost way more than a cast wheel. also multi piece wheels are more expensive than single piece wheels.

for just regular one piece cast wheels look to spend no more than 300 per rim. maybe a lil more if its like chrome or has a big name brand to it. for 18's.

i know my wheels, i seen them go online for like 600-1000 dollars per rim. I have 18 inch BBS RSII. They are not only multi piece but the pieces are also forged.

here are two sites that say the manufacturing process of the wheel,

but yea chances are, its gonna be cast if its enkei. enkei does make a good wheel. some of mitsubishi's oem wheels are made by enkei. i know members of the board, friends and family on the board that have enkei's. a lil pricey but they like them.

cast can be cheap or good. mine are oz racing wheels and they are by no means cheap/lowquality (nor were they cheap )

but companies making knockoffs could easily make cheap shoddy cast wheels that you'll bend the first big pothole you hit.

one of those links show that all oz wheels are cast but they are also the same wheels used by f-1 racers.

color wise, i don't htink bronze would look good on a silver 8g. so thats out of the picture. gunmetal with a poished lip or silver would look good IMO. as for the wheels, out of the two, i'd go with the rsv. but yea thats just my opinion, go with what u want, its your car.
