VR4 Engine & FWD ????

Does anyone kno if there is a tranny that can fit on a 6A13TT that is front wheel drive????

why wouldnt the stock 8G tranny bolt up? Isnt it oriented the same direction?

Transmission is the same code between the 4G64 and the 6A12, but the bellhousings are different. This has been discussed on Club3G, but their site is down right now.

Not to revive a super old thread but....

The transmission from the Mirage (1997-2001) 1.5L 4G15 and 1.8L 4G93 will fit direct bolt up only thing is if your using the 1.5 trans you need the Flywheel and clutch for a 1.8 to work.

Also you have to modify the front wastegate actuator as it sit right were the slave cylinder is.

You can also use the DOHC 4G93T's transmission that came in 1996+ Lancer GSR's for you UK and AU guys, these transmissions were 4WD but you can convert them to FWD and the slave cylinder is on the back side so no need for front wastegate modifing.

yeah well good point but the us 8G can only be FWD so would you say that a 6a13tt with a 5g mirage manual tranny would wrk on an 8G??? .. it can be made AWD but ALOT of custom parts need to be made...

AWD its the same process for the AWD conversion on the Mirage.

This is true and I had made a post of this a while back, saying that in MirageForums they do a lot of 6A13TT swaps using their stock 5-speed transmissions. I'm not sure how the automatic transmission will do under 287hp, most likely take a dump on your or something.

yea don't even bother with the autos

we have seen so many go on just 11PSI of boost on the 1.8 auto trans the 1.5 is worse.

Prob not, I here the 3g 3.0 tranny doesn't even fit, if it did I would have that motor in my car right now.

Soo if an Evo 4-8 4g63t bolts up to both the 8g and 5g Mirage(both trans and engine bay). And a 6a13t bolts up to the 1.5 or 1.8L Mirage transmissions ... Why wouldnt a stock 8g or 3g trans bolt up to a 6a13tt?

Seth I dont think half the people talking about this over on c3g or anywhere have any clue was to wtf their talking about. JDM Legnum guys talk about using EVO trannies in their cars, simple as that, the EVO bellhousing bolt pattern is the same as the 8g. So the real searching needs to be done over on the Aussie and UK VR4 boards.
