    8g Galant Headlight Retrofit

I posted this same thing on galantforums.net already, but i figured this site was more active and I'd try here. Anyways here it is, I recently purchased a set of 8g galant headlights that I wanted to retrofit for fun. And I figured that somebody would put some good use to it and it would be a one of a kind thing to add to your car. All the parts are from theretrofitsource.com, which is a very prestigous company and always sell good products. My plans are:

    Black out, leaving orange reflector
e46-r Shrouds (two tone, back portion black, front chrome; CCFL Angel Eyes
    Morimoto Mini H1 Projectors

These will be for sale once they are finished but I'd figured I would show you guys the progress and the work going into it. If you are unfamiliar with retrofitting you can contact me and I will let you know everything you need ;) If you are interested in buying these I can work out a good deal with you, and I can do other customizing if you'd like ;) Just let me know.

This is how the shrouds will be painted, only the silver will be chrome

    Heres the progress so far.

    Getting Ready for Paint

Finished up all the painting until the shroud comes.

One of the lights was practically brand new so I got lucky with that, the other one on the other hand, was pretty pitted. So I started with 600 grit, but didn't have anything finer, haha, so I'll be needing to pick up a sheet or two of some finer stuff. I was suprised how much of the pitting actually came out, about 90% of it so far.

    In Before Wetamup!

You will need more than 50 posts to sell these once you are done unless approved by a mod. During your build I suggest throwing in a few pictures with your user name and the date just to make things easier on you to proved that you in fact did the work and you have the products in your possession.

You should check my retro build thread. Looks like your doing a similar retro. These will look good! I sometimes I think about doing things a little different like leaving the amber reflector in and not blacking out the parking/signal light corner completely, but over all I'm happy.

Got the parts from TRS today! Pairs of MH1 Values, E46-r Values, and CCFL Angel Eyes. Sorry for the poor quality of photos. Enjoy!

Test fire before the tuning, they werent bad at all and were very easy to get perfected.

    Test fitted Projector

And the trimming of the shroud begins.

Test fitted the shroud and projector, fits great!

Taped off chrome section i wanted to keep before I painted the shroud

I do like how you taped and painted the trim! Gonna look good.

Try playing with the washers, this is how I got mine at about 25-30ft

Wow that is pretty good. There werent any washers with these. They arent as good as that but they are average id say. The lense really takes a lot of it out.

On the wall is MH1 values. 4 washers on top and 2 on bottom. I tweaked the shield a only bit. For the money I do love em.

Ill fix those dead IMG links later. Anyways here are some finished pics of the retro. The angel eyes are a no-go because they coincidentally broke. Ill still post pics of the halos lit up. It looked great IMO. They just have a couple more tests to be done and ouput pics to be taken with a better camera. Let me know what you guys think! Remember theyll be for sale soon :)

These pics are from before the angel eyes broke.

A few output shots. The lense took away a lot of the blue on the cutoff but its still there.

    And the finished product.

Might need a rubber housing cap to seal the back up.
