terrific progress, you'll love having an LSD
Thanks! I'm looking forward to getting a good feel for it.
On a side note, more UPS activity today!

A fresh pair of RS3's for the front. Hopefully together with the LSD, they will provide some serious streetable traction.

Boy they really don't come with much tread. Mine were far less bald then I thought, relatively speaking. Do they feel soft?
Yeah there really isn't much from the look of it. Ill text you another picture of them.
I would say the same for me. You don't know my rhyme or reason. You are not an enigma or unique snowflake - neither am I. The same goes for all of the members here. Just because you think you are different and have the authority to talk down to other doesn't make you any different than anyone else here.
Get off your soapbox or whatever it is you think it is that makes you stand taller than the next person. That being said, so will I. Be nice around here.
Matt - You can see where the wear bars are, those low points in between the tread. They have the nubs on them from the injection process. Those tires look to have at least 9/32nds of tread on them. More than enough for you to have some fun. Most car tires come with at 9/32nds to 11/32nds of tread on them.
Do a burnout, post vids! :)
Based on that picture you sent me mine really are bald. Outside tread has like 1/16 and the insides are near cords. I didn't realize how much camber we run up front until I saw the results of spinning them all the time. You might want to look into a front camber kit. I'm going to have mine set to zero.
Awesome choice on the Wavetrac dude! Wish I had the money to get an LSD =/
Does the Motul fluid classify as GL-4? or is it pretty universal?
I was reading something about the 4g64 M/T using brass synchros so anything above a GL-4 is bad for them. I am not sure about the V6 though.
Oh they do have plenty of tread, and are nice and soft. I don't see traction being an issue. As far as the burnout goes, I'm honestly afraid that will take off far too many miles from these tires for me to justify. We'll see though.
Justin, wasn't I just talking to you this past Summer about a front camber bolt kit ;) When you see these tires, you're most definitely going to want a new pair up front.
Jigz, the Motul fluid isn't specifically a GL-4. It's an ester-based full synthetic fluid that adheres to GL-4 and GL-5 specs. I'm going to cross my fingers about the brass, but I would rather pay another 500 for a trans than another 1000 because of using the wrong fluid and voiding Wavetrac's warranty.
You'll love the rs3s. Why only a pair though?
Yeah I didn't realize until my RS3's came off with a solid quarter inch gradient from the negative camber. I'm sure glad my coils have camber plates! The more in depth we go the more I realize no one has ever really set there cars up to hook. Alignment and suspension integrity will speak this year.
Because street car.
Street car pretty much sums up the reasoning for only 2 tires. The continentals on the rear are a decent pair of rollers. My main concern is getting power to the pavement for now.
What are your plans for the car?
At this point, to achieve the highest dyno sheet and best 1/4 mile time to date for N/A on this platform. And at the same time, maintain its fun factor when I'm able to auto x or attend Proving Grounds.
looks like this is coming together quite well
question: will this be on the stock bottom end?
Thanks man. Yes this will be on the stock bottom end. I've considered studding the mains but at that point I might as well pull it all apart to replace the bearings and have the rotating assembly fully balanced. With that being said, it will be awhile before that happens.
No2 :)
If need be ;)
looking good man! using them on the rotas? Will this be finshed by august September time frame? :)
Nice Matt! I'm with Greg, I would like a 6G75 swap after my 6G72 goes out ( I just hope it's not anytime soon). My Galant is my daily driver so I want it be a good one but better than just a regular stock Galant you see on the street.
I'm waiting for you to do it on Justin's tune. That way I know I'm good to do it on my 75 ;)
thanks Jared! the items I've posted so far will definitely be installed ASAP when I get the car back home from hibernation. by late summer, my goal is a custom set of cams. there is something in the works and I'm excited for results. are you planning a trip out this way towards the end of summer? I'm sure map would be stoked to see your car. plus they opened up their new location since moving recently and its supposed to be even more impressive.
guzm4n, take a trip up here sometime. there are so many awesome events throughout the summer that are worth checking out. not to mention a certain 6g75 galant. one ride would be enough to convince anybody.
mattttttttttttt, when are you coming to town? Justin tells me I may have some fuel system upgrading to do based off what he noticed with your car. it appears the 75 with 305cc injectors starts to peg the limits of the factory fuel pump. in a few weeks when I get the car back and the new parts all come together, we'll keep you posted as to how the new tune works out.
yeah bro! they don't know it yet, but they are going to dyno the g lol. i suppose i should email them... if everything goes to plan we need to have a meet out there. I need to hang otu with some fellow g owners
I want to take a trip up there, but my parents own a restaurant & they always want me helping them out so I don't get to get out a lot. Still only 17 so my mom still worries about me, especially when I go long distances. Hopefully I can convince them this year.
Jared that will be awesome. I can't wait, and I would like to attend if possible to see how it does.
guz I keep forgetting you're one of the younger members. its completely understandable about not being able to just up and leave for a four hour trip. if you do get the chance, you'll have a blast. we have a pretty solid group of 8g/3g's
Matt are you only replacing the main bolts with studs? I kick around the idea from time to time but I'm afraid of disrupting the current clearances if they were to torque differently or slightly tweak the main cap. but I do look forward to your trip. are you flying or driving?
Guz you should get on club3g MN (facebook group), I'll let you in. We need some better youthful members to offset the tards in there now. Besides, moms are always more willing to let you drive when they know you'll be amongst good people.
Small update today. 2 small but important items arrived.
First being the pair of front stop tech stainless brake lines to match the rear I recently purchased.
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps8485fb88.jpg
Second is a bit more exciting. Ingalls ETD. Together with my prothanes it should be a fairly solid fit for my powerplant.
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u...psad181293.jpg
I have the same lines really nice I'm also a lil jelly over the torque damper where and how much?
Good to know. I stumbled onto a couple good deals to put the front and rear lines together which is fine with me to replace the original 14 year- old brake hoses.
You would never believe the deal on the Stiffy. $75 shipped from a 3G partout.
Matt - well I think I might not be able to this year cause my parents are starting to plan for my sister's quinceanera (big Mexican party for when a girl turns 15, kinda of like a sweet 16). Stiffy for $75, nice!
Silvertune - I'll join once I can get my Facebook to work
One of these years Guzm4n. I'll be looking forward to it.
So I felt like sharing a little love with the Eclipse and decided to do the engine mounts a temporary favor until the G comes back from storage.
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps76c1b012.jpg
And I'm not sure if I ever shared a picture of the whole car, but here it is. My side-action ;)
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u...6724321jpg.jpg
Silvertune is appalled! lololol
That car needs urethane mounts. :)
And it will get some this Summer.
Back to the Galant. My rear rotors today for the Brembo setup. They are from R1Concepts.
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps45e96383.jpg
Also bought a set of pads for the rear. I will be using Raybestos Premium Semi-Metallic. I except these should last a few years with no issue.
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps48a3404a.jpg
Last but not least, new apparel from the club3G group buy.
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps62c26c17.jpg
The 3g is clean. Nice score on the and ingalls brakes
Can you give us some info on the custom cams?
Thanks 8thls!
Jerry, I'll post more specifics once they're in and known to be effective. I'm hoping to have something to share very soon. I bring the car back from storage tomorrow, so my progress will be accelerated greatly.
