Thanks! I'm looking forward to getting a good feel for it.

On a side note, more UPS activity today!

A fresh pair of RS3's for the front. Hopefully together with the LSD, they will provide some serious streetable traction.

Boy they really don't come with much tread. Mine were far less bald then I thought, relatively speaking. Do they feel soft?

  4. #564
Yeah there really isn't much from the look of it. Ill text you another picture of them.

I would say the same for me. You don't know my rhyme or reason. You are not an enigma or unique snowflake - neither am I. The same goes for all of the members here. Just because you think you are different and have the authority to talk down to other doesn't make you any different than anyone else here.

Get off your soapbox or whatever it is you think it is that makes you stand taller than the next person. That being said, so will I. Be nice around here.

Matt - You can see where the wear bars are, those low points in between the tread. They have the nubs on them from the injection process. Those tires look to have at least 9/32nds of tread on them. More than enough for you to have some fun. Most car tires come with at 9/32nds to 11/32nds of tread on them.

Do a burnout, post vids! :)

Based on that picture you sent me mine really are bald. Outside tread has like 1/16 and the insides are near cords. I didn't realize how much camber we run up front until I saw the results of spinning them all the time. You might want to look into a front camber kit. I'm going to have mine set to zero.

Awesome choice on the Wavetrac dude! Wish I had the money to get an LSD =/

Does the Motul fluid classify as GL-4? or is it pretty universal?

I was reading something about the 4g64 M/T using brass synchros so anything above a GL-4 is bad for them. I am not sure about the V6 though.

Oh they do have plenty of tread, and are nice and soft. I don't see traction being an issue. As far as the burnout goes, I'm honestly afraid that will take off far too many miles from these tires for me to justify. We'll see though.

Justin, wasn't I just talking to you this past Summer about a front camber bolt kit ;) When you see these tires, you're most definitely going to want a new pair up front.

Jigz, the Motul fluid isn't specifically a GL-4. It's an ester-based full synthetic fluid that adheres to GL-4 and GL-5 specs. I'm going to cross my fingers about the brass, but I would rather pay another 500 for a trans than another 1000 because of using the wrong fluid and voiding Wavetrac's warranty.

Yeah I didn't realize until my RS3's came off with a solid quarter inch gradient from the negative camber. I'm sure glad my coils have camber plates! The more in depth we go the more I realize no one has ever really set there cars up to hook. Alignment and suspension integrity will speak this year.

    Because street car.

Street car pretty much sums up the reasoning for only 2 tires. The continentals on the rear are a decent pair of rollers. My main concern is getting power to the pavement for now.

At this point, to achieve the highest dyno sheet and best 1/4 mile time to date for N/A on this platform. And at the same time, maintain its fun factor when I'm able to auto x or attend Proving Grounds.

looks like this is coming together quite well

question: will this be on the stock bottom end?

  16. #576
Thanks man. Yes this will be on the stock bottom end. I've considered studding the mains but at that point I might as well pull it all apart to replace the bearings and have the rotating assembly fully balanced. With that being said, it will be awhile before that happens.

Nice Matt! I'm with Greg, I would like a 6G75 swap after my 6G72 goes out ( I just hope it's not anytime soon). My Galant is my daily driver so I want it be a good one but better than just a regular stock Galant you see on the street.
