Its truly going to be a monster!
What cams are you running again?
stocks i think lol they are just what came with my head but i think they might not be all that stock from how she idles.
Getting a base map tonight :) so there should be more vids this week.
Lopey idle for a 2.4L w/high compression...lol
nice work man. 9.0 AFR damn lol
Beautiful vid bud, I am hard for you. :wackit:
just got to drive it for the first time in a year, never went over 2k rpms though cause of how rich im running was stressing the engine a bit. Leaking oil which is bothering me but i can fix that.
awesome build man
thanks man, congrats on the cotm
Congrats man shes finaly running
thanks man just waiting on my tune right now been working on it all day drove it really rich but it was nice to take it out on the road again lol my bov kept going off lol
hell i ride around un-tuned and im satisfied as hell when i hear my tial bov relieve pressure. Its sexy isnt it? LOL..... Though i really want to do more than rev to 3k and only hit 1 lb boost ;-). Call me a ricer but the sound of a BOV is way better than a stereo system
well i would rev it out but having it run so rich thinned out the oil and i was leaking really bad so i drained it im just waiting till tomorrow till i get another maf from my friend so we can start tunning it the right way and then start to run on sd.
good stuff mitch. cant wait for the vids!!
Awesome work !
ordered a set of star specs for the galant today
cars back up on stands took the oil pan off to see if i can get my leak stopped also replaced the front main looking to get a different under drive pully this week cause the one that i have is all chipped in and broke in spots throwing the balance off which i think it what i leaked out of the front main :/ so we will see im going to get a aluminum one cause they are easier to come by then the cast iron ones.

use permatex ultra gray(not red, not black, not blue.... GRAY damnit)
or go to mitsu and get their oil pan sealant. It will cost you though.
Also, when you clean all the old rtv off your pan, lay it on a piece of glass(because you know glass is going to be near perfectly flat) if the pan can wobble or doesn't also lay nearly perfectly flat.... then you need a new pan.
Make sure the pan is clean and free of oil(brake parts cleaner)
make sure the bolts are clean and free of oil(soak in a cup of brake parts cleaner, or get new bolts)
make sure the block mounting surface is clean and free of oil, again.... brake parts cleaner.
The torque spec is very very very low for the oil pan. Its like 16 inch lbs or something(verify this).
So instead of using a ratchet and cranking down on these till all the silicone comes gushing out,
try using just a nut driver, or the proper sized(bit) Phillips screwdriver
also don't forget that the two extra short bolts go under the timing belt. so as not to destroy it and make you cry.
Oh and a BTW.... don't "let the rtv setup" it doesn't need setup time, in fact this has a negative effect on adhesion.
lay that bead and go to work. If you have to touch the rtv to smooth it out or something, make sure you have on a clean nitrile glove so your hands don't contaminate the rtv and effect the bond.
^
Great How To info right there.
Without a doubt gray rtv is the best stuff to use. Ive always had issues with the red stuff but never with the gray. I didnt know the short bolts were on the timin side though. Lol.
red is high pressure(not all that oil resistant, great for coolant and charge pipe/intake flanges)
blue is basic(high adhesion under normal low stress conditions.. not all that useful on a car)
black is high temp(oil resistant, but not ideal for pans or as a case sealant)
gray is ultra oil resistant(great case sealant)
copper is very high temp(basically for exhaust flanges only)
Purple is magic(yes magic does exist, we've known about it for some time)
unfortunately purple isn't out yet.
and hondabond is glory.
Hondabond?
Make sure you cover it with a couple coats of clear if you haven't already.
damn mitch. Those wheels look way better!
No matter how good the wheels look he is still a fag. LOL.. JK JK JK JK.. Dont ban me PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Nice work man. I want to see some inside vids of this beast pushing you to the seat son!

its all running right??? ik you had that tune done i think :/ ... lets see some more videos!
nope still no tune everything i try and set up falls through scott gray is in china for a month and the other guy that wants to tune it is still in MN for another week.
still no tune MEH looks like she is going to be in the garage till next spring now......
Very sad... are you going to come to MOD with Rob?
probably
Haven't been able to work on this thing now that im working 12's again, but we are just leaving it for the winter now. Going to pull the engine and transmission back out next weekend clean up the engine bay and install a quaife lsd, with forged pistons and hbeam rods, arp head studs, and 272/282 cams then right as spring rolls around we can have it running again and get it tuned.
so what cams do you have in it now?
