at the top of my head, there are 3 v6 24v 6A12 engine variants from the mitsu fto.

the most potent fto engine is the 6a12 mivec with 200hp.
unfortunately, the engine orientation is 180 degrees opposite the 7g galant. it would be easier to place the fto 6a12 mivec in the 8g galant.... but why bother? just get a 4g63t from evo4 onwards.

since the engine orientation of the fto 6a12 is opposite vs. the 7g:
    1. 6a12 non-turbo
    2. mivec md non turbo
    3. twin turbo

you cannot use the 7g 6a12 tranny to mate with the fto 6a12 engine. you can however use the m/t from the 8g vr4 with the 2.5l v6 24v 6a13tt (locking the rear drive) with the fto engine.

however, its better if you can get a fwd fto m/t instead. the higher end 200hp mivec comes with lsd.

going back to the 7g transplant - if i were you, since the 6a12tt did not reach u.s. shores, you have to order parts such as timing belt, water pump, gaskets etc. overseas. its going to be a big investment.

or move to japan or the philippines. the 6a12tt, even the fto 6a12 mivec is not that hard to source out.

    just stick with the 4g63t.

Actually the FTO motor is a 2L 6A12 Mivec Mounted on the oppersite side to the Galant 6A12,

Over here in Australia the Galant were released with a 6A12 V6 N/A, and a 4cyc 4G63, You guys should be able to do the 6A12TT conversion, As a 6A12 Owner i would like to say dont bother with it, there is very little performance parts for this motor, your better of sticking with a 4G63T least its one of Mitsubishi most funded motor and has the performance parts to back it,

On another note i will be doing the 6A12TT conversion
