carbing is the best then the second best is the stock 3g (fronts)

and i dont think the rear strut bar is going to do much at all, i dont think it even fits.

depends on what u mean by "best" but i think the DC is an upgrade from the OE 3G bar since it is actually welded to it's brackets, not bolted.

no, the DC is 2 steel bars welded to steel brackets and welded together via a steel plate w/ holes (all poweder coated)... lemme find a pic...

i think from our last discussion thoguh, that to fit on the V6 you will need to add a washer under each mounting point it to relieve pressure on the vacuum lines behind/ on top of the plenum (which will touch).

    consensus...

you can't go wrong with the OE 3G, CARBING, DC, and RRE bars as they perform just about same, the rest (MEGAN, FREEDOM DESIGN, EBAY etc.) are basically only for looks as they flex or have pivot points where the bars attach to the brackets (since they are not one solid piece or are made of inferior materials)...

here is the comparison of the good bars:

OE 3g is the cheapest but least aesthetically pleasing. (steel painted black)
CARBING is the lightest and most expensive (as well as best looking). (machined aluminum)
DC is the beefiest but is probably the heaviest. (steel powder coated gun metal)
RRE is the most exclusive (only about 20 were ever made) and has the simplest design (although it does only attaches to the 2 closest bolts across the engine bay). (steel powder coated grey)

none of the strut bars that fit the USDM 8G are designed to stop the motion you are referring to since to "twist" the bar would mean that the sides of your frame are flexing longitudinally at different rates in relation to each other which is ALOT of force... the footprint of a bar required to stop that motion would need to be much larger than any of the bars produced at the moment. a better solution to curtail that flex is chassis bracing. a strut bar in essence is a bar accross the top of a shoebox which keeps the sides of that box from caving in or bowing out... none of them would be able to stop a twisting motion since the force that would make a bar "twist" would pretty much be impossible to counteract given the leverage of only a few inces (the space between the bolts on the top of the towers). pretty much the only braces that would stop that twist are possibly full "X" braces or triangulating bars and those mount below the car or accross the entire engine bay diagonally, framerail to framerail. the D3 CS-K are an example of the under car mounted bars for this purpose.

You can grab one from the dealership for $60 bucks or so depending on the markup.
