Whatever happened to the picture? I've been waiting to see how you connected the projector harness to the HID ballast.

Forgot bro. Nothing really special about the connections, really plug and play, but I'll get you pics tomorrow.

I just wanted to see how you got it done because the way I have it wired... there's got to be a better way. You say just use the wires from the projector, but correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see how you got those to connect to the H1 HID bulb without going through the ballast, or having to clip the wires and solder them to the projector wire. The projector wire and the H1 HID bulb doesn't have a compatible connector on the end.

I dont know whats different between our HID setups so I'll post pics of mine.

This is the harness which came with the projectors.

Low beam connection on the harness.

High Beam connection on the harness.

    HID Ballast.

H1 HID Bulb. As you can see, there are two male connections on the end. That it what connects to the projector harness.

Connection between HID bulb and projector harness. Males on the HID bulb go to the low beam female spades on the prjectors harness and the other wires coming out the bulb go to the ballast. Maybe you have different connections on your H1 replacement bulb.

    Low Beam

    High Beam

So, really plug and play. Pretty much unplug the low beam bulb and plug in the HID bulb.

Thanks for clearing that up. After seeing your pics and explanation, I know what I did wrong. I just didn't use the other wire (non-HID H1 wire) with the male ends to plug into the low beam female plug on the projector harness. I just removed this wire entirely.

That's cool. Then all what someone has to do (that never had H4 HID's) is to buy the H1 HID kit.

Just to clarify, so now it's been confirmed that with these headlights it's not necessary to have H4 HID ballasts with an H1 bulb? A complete H1 HID Kit will work just fine, correct? Same output and everything I'm guessing..

Yes. If you never had an HID kit in your Galant and would like to buy one, I would suggest you purchase the H1 kit (for these projector headlights).

Most of us already had HID kits in our Galants, so all we had to do was buy an H1 HID replacement bulb. Again, if you never had an HID kit in your Galant, just buy the H1 HID kit from Ebay and follow the directions from 01Galant01 in order to plug the bulbs in and get them working. I'll put together a more detailed tutorial later since this seems to be a confusing topic.

I'm gonna go with a regular hyper yellow H1 for high beams, and get some h1 HID replacement bulbs for the low beam

All HID ballasts are the same. It is the bulbs that differ in shape to fit your preference.

Not really. My old McCulloch ballasts were different. They had a wire that you connected directly to the battery and you had to connect another wire across to the passenger side ballast. I didn't have this wire secured and it ended up on my exhaust manifold one night and got fried and blew out my low beam fuse. The setup I had at the time was a H4 single bulb, not hi/low like they have today, so when the low beam fuse blew, that is when I found you could use your foglights with your parking lights (without having to do any extensive mod - just pull the low beam fuse if you want this look) - however, in order to use the H4's, I just flicked the switch into high beam and the light came back on. This was the only good thing about his ballast. I had thought about connecting it with my H1 bulb, considering the H1 is a single bulb. I could then drive around with my foglights and parking lights on at the same time (after I remove the low beam fuse), except I think I threw the ballasts away a couple years ago, considering I bought replacements that were plug and play.
