You have to cut the ends, then fold them over so you can screw it in through the wheel well. The plastic will soften (which is the point) when you put the heat on it. Then you let it cool and it'll be just as hard as before. If you don't trust just letting it air cool, you can use some water or something I guess.
Oh and I used cinder blocks covered with blankets to help me mold the lip to the bumper. I was working alone so it's not like I have a buddy to hold one side while I heated it up and shaped it. It actually worked quite well.. and cinder blocks don't complain that their hands are getting tired or too hot! lol
