^^I think like the V6 valve covers, the early 8G-A (1999 and some 2000 model years) just said "Mitsubishi 16 Valve" where every year after that had the "2.4L 16 valve" stamped valve cover. It's funny, the 4-cyl guys want the newer one, and the V6 guys want the older one, especially those with 6G74/75 engine swaps (false advertising lol).

I'l probably make a TI thread and see how it goes
That isnt going to work very well bro. You want to mimic the stock system as much as possible. a vented catch can does just that. vents those gasses to atmosphere under boost so your crankcase doesnt get pressurized but instead is wide open. I dont want any smoke coming out of a catch can underhood. The stock system and one way vents are superior as the valves work together an pulls vacuum (very important for nice and tight piston rings) and shuts off the crankcase under boost. Mitsubishi engineers spent a lot of time engineering what will last the longest and what is most efficient. No need to re-invent the wheel in my eyes :)
Yep I did

A little bit of wrinkle coat and bedliner
Haha this is very true, I was surprised when my valve cover was 8g-b style.
^Nailed it.

I've been trying to figure out this vented catch can business for a couple days now. I ended up keeping the stock PCV Then routing the house to the catch can then to the valve cover breather and I capped off the nipple on the manifold. I deleted the intake nipple.
I used to run a sealed can from the PCV to the can to the manifold and never had an issue. I'm curious if the new setup will work. If it doesn't, Marc expect a phone call because I am going to need one of those one way valves haha.
yep you routed it correctly. I just didnt like all the condensation fuel mixture being in a can and whatnot. I rather have my engine burn it off. HAHA and you know how to reach me bro :)
In other news....

Sweet! That'll look nice when you pop the hood and that's the little bit of contrast on the car.

What are you using? Just a High-temp paint? I have a CAI that needs to be cleaned up before I install it and figured I'd rather paint than polish it.
Bedliner and high temp wrinkle coat

Diggin the valve cover and pipes, looking fwd to seeing them back at home under the hood. Seems like those check valves were a smart investment and they look niceyp too
Soooooo you guys should know by now when I get quiet I'm up to no good lol.
I pulled up to Mondo's house to put on the valve cover and intercooler piping, he talked me into spraying the bay so we pulled the motor out and I start seeing writing on the motor. Wtf straight up junkyard engine. So we pull the motor and spray the bay.
Pulled the timing cover off of the old motor and wtf?
Gunk that looked like rtv all over the engine in there. OMG. Made the executive decision to pull the damn thing out and swap in a spare block that Mondo had from his eclipse.
cracked the motor open and holy crap did it smell bad *barf*
I started noticing problems starting up and tuned most of it out. now its clear why. crank sensor was covered as well as everything in the timing cover. Honestly I think someone killed a block in the car and put a junkyard motor in the car and and threw on a new water pump and timing belt in it. Flexplate was marked on up to the head on up to the engine block itself. Poor car. I was the best thing that happened to it. Thermostat was a jacked as well. seal was waaaaaay too big. We called it a night and hit it the next morning
Mondo freshened up the block out of his car.
We cleaned up everything in the engine. Painted the head the same grey that I used on the valve cover. Painted the block black. Re-routed the throttle cable. Put on the slim fan for the radiator. Sprayed the bay completely with bedliner. Deleted power steering and a/c as well. Put the head on, torqued the headstuds and retimed the motor. Put it all back together and put it in the car. 20 hours of no sleep and a finished car ......
Pretty proud of myself as this was my first time pulling a motor and doing a water pump and timing belt lol. She fires up sooooo much easier and she sounds way more aggressive. I fired it up and was like whoa sounds like it has a mild cam kinda haha.
