We miss the Tumbler
Yeah nah not doing it for gains hence no timing increase. Just for longevity.
Haha I'll take her for a rise off and snap a night photo when I get off of work tonight ^_^

I dont know why the fenders always dry first lol
Just had my iphone in crap lighting tonight
Looks good haha!

Thank you sir!
subscribed ;)
This will take me a while to read every page
Could of hit that HDR-ish filter on the crapple =P
Looks good man. For your tune, wouldn't you want to keep your AFR closer to 12's for torque? Maybe it's more of a preference lol.
I still need to bug you for some more getup and go for my daily 2.4L
So far I bumped timing up by 3 between 3krpms and 5.5krpms between 60 and 100 load (put 10k miles on it since). Didn't really notice much on the butt-dyno but makes me feel better. I could use some guidance for NA power!
I think it dries on the fenders first because its sloped way more then the hood.
Glad to hear Tumbler is still going, cant wait to see whats up next
i hate the hdr on the iphone. ugh. so over saturated.
Yeah 12's are awesome but you have to consider the engine is going to run hotter and the head design isnt the best and cant keep cool and efficient. Thats why i run a richer afr for safety and the cost of torque. Our cars arent lacking in the torque department by any means at a richer afr. Also more timing wont do much without less fuel saturation and more air going in for a cleaner burn.
That totally makes sense! hah never stopped and thought about it.
^_^ Tumbler is gonna get some tlc on my 3 days off
So didn't get to repaint her on 3 days off. Oil feed line broke (oil on everything)in the insane temperature drop we had here and snow. Replaced it with a vibrant line (much better)
Drove her to and from work, last tank I got 405 miles lololol

Still stealthy
Looking good Marc, when is that beech gettin some window tint? also could you please post a video of inside the car of you stomping the gas, get the cluster in the vid.
Looks good my man! Whoa whoa whoa! You're getting 405 to the tank on a boosted SOHC 4g64????? That's fucking awesome!!!
Thanks man! I'm planning the tint as soon as it decides not to be an ice box around here haha. That video is a good idea.
Thanks bro! Haha yeah I'm getting hella good highway mileage as long as I keep my foot out of it. Imagine if I was 5 spd omg.
That's astonishing. I got 290 at most with babyg. Lol
Jeez! Really? She must be rich as hell. I think worst I got was 230 when it was just boosted and not tuned
It's more because of my driving style I think. And I mostly did city driving at the time. I went to go visit my siblings in school 3 hours away and I got like 330 to the tank. But there were a few 80-120 pulls on the highway. Haha.
Haha yeah I am pretty docile driving around and am doing a combo of city/highway. Mostly highway though that's why. With a few low gear pulls of course.
Wait tumbler is still auto?
Sent From My Rooted Galaxy Note 2 using Tapatalk
Yup! Haha. I kinda like it for the time being
^Womp womp lol
I hope I don't jinx by asking this, but how is the auto holding. I had to rebuild mine shortly after taking ownership..I didn't even have a maf adapter+filter yet iirc lol. But then again I wasnt given any records of prior tranny maintenance.
Haha! It will eventually get swapped!
It holds really well. A lot of people ask me about it. The killer would be torque. I tune my cars to have smooth onset of torque and hold flat. Not a giant spike and taper. That is what breaks stuff. That way I can stomp the gas and get a nice surge. The car accelerates like a big motor car not the typical turbo car ^_^
Bingo!
but thats like no fun! What about burning tires at 70mph!? lol
Lets not forget the non exist ant boost drop on shifts. I drop 2 psi mid shift lmao. And I have wheel spin when boost hits at low speeds. I was amazed the drivetrain loss didn't completely eliminate that
Usually there a difference in WHP between autos and manuals but torque remains, the most part, about the same between the two as the torque converter...converting torque from the engine to get the vehicle moving. That's what robs WHP, the torque converter but it can gain some of it back by using a smaller diameter and/or lighter weight converter.
But your car behaves like its positive displacement charged!
Yep I had thoughts of going to a lighter converter when I had her open bit I said eff it haha. Honestly this car is as fast/faster than Ivory boosted and manual tranny. I'm quite pleased
Don't talk down to Ivory like that!!! =P
Haha! Oh I'm not. Ivory was a beast! I've just gotten better at modding/tuning. Makes me freak out cause Ivory would be retarded fast by now
Haha, I wish I knew what I was doing for tuning =/ ivory would be so fast, you're right. I sure do miss her looks with the new style jdm skirts.
Tuning is a pain in the ass at first till you get the hang of it. Once passed the learning curve it's fun shifting your power and where you want it and getting your car to do certain things. And I miss her ass too :( it's ok tumbler will get there eventually
build the auto. few vr4's drivers have had success with that. makes for a very quick car
and get some 245/40/17 semi slicks and gloss black *insert your fav wheel* asap!
I'm gonna go with the plan I had for ivory. The looker set of 18" wheels. Then a track setup that's 17".
Lolol hit a bump and my speedo stopped working. I think the vss kicked the bucket. Gotta pull one from the yard. However this is after I got home from work.

That is at 360 miles for this tank so far. I will hit 400 again. My lean burn tune works nicely. Afr's are at 15.1 at idle and cruise.
