I'm a little scared to cut the bumper. If I just widen the holes, they will have a similar width to the old-style VR-4 bumper, which isn't bad. I'll decide when I mock it up again today

    haha you guys are ridiculous
yeah I might end up cutting the bumper. Maybe some day I'll just mold this lip to the bumper, so it won't matter anyway lol

I cut my bumper for the lip and it worked great. Sat nice and flush until half of the lip went missing.

    decided to cut the lip
Now I just need to heat the lip to mold it to the shape of the bumper. This might even take some screws underneath near the fog lights to help keep it's shape

I'm currently in the process of installing it. I'm trying to maintain the "teeth" in the lower grill of the bumper, so I'm cutting notches in the lip to make it fit.

    found this on ebay:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SPOON...Q5fAccessories

$73 shipped, not bad, considering I had to drive out of my way a little bit to meet up with the guy
Also, like I said previously, this lip is polyurethane, NOT ABS like a lot of the mugen lip. That makes this lip a lot more flexible and easier to work with. I'm feeling pretty confident with making it flush with the bumper.
    Isn't that the Mugen lip?

All right, the lip is pretty much the shape of the bumper now, I just need to cut off the ends, bend them in, then screw it on. I've been tired all day though so I'm going to call it quits for the night I think

    ask and you shall receive

cutting the air duct on the lip to fit under the bumper

what it looked like before final cuts and sanding

    test fit

here you can see how close it is to the bumper

this is the original shape of the lip. It's pretty far off from the true shape of the bumper

after one round of heating and shaping

This is after pretty much finishing the driver's side

passenger side with a little more work to do

    concrete blocks are your friends

The passenger side almost done. I did a little more heating and now it pretty much sits flush.

and of course, my weapon of choice:

almost looks like stock height! haha jk. The lip is held on with double sided tape on the sides of the bumper and in the lower grill in this pic. The double sided tape helped the lip keep its shape when I was folding the ends in. You can see that the fitment is pristine. With patience, you can pretty much mold this thing to exactly the shape of the bumper.

This is one location where I screwed in the lip to make sure it's secure

edges folded in and screwed in

    final fitment picture. awesome.

all done! I'm thinking about doing black sideskirts to match the front lip :)
